The Cocoa price in the market at the highest price from the past. In the last week, the Cocoa of the full fruit don’t process in the garden of Chau Thanh-Ben Tre and other Tien Giang, Dong Nai fluctuate from 3200 to 4500 d/kg. The processed Cocoa grain attained 39000d/kg, at the highest price from the past.
After the lunar new year, the Cocoa collection price of the internal and foreigner companies in some southern provinces such as Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc…increase continuously. Mr Tran Hong Son, the tech professional of VinaCacao has representative in Ben Tre province, says: This year, the Cocoa is lack a lot, the price is continuing to increase. The price is 39000d/kg, and continues to increase. This is the highest price from the past (The highest price of the last april 32000d/kg). The reason of the Cocoa grain increasing price is because of the worldwide market demand. Now the countries are lack of 200000tonnes of grains for Cocoa processing.
The Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province is one of the Cocoa planting mostly in this province. The farmers in this district are very happy for this situation. Mr Pham Van Ngan in the Phu Duc district begins to plant Cocoa in these 2 years, with the 400plants, having the first collection but has the small good profit. He says: I plant Cocoa in the free time together with the longgan, from the lunar new year, got rather 2million dong, if he sells all the big and the small, the price is changing from 3000 to 3500d/kg, if the big fruit is cold to the commercant, the price is 4500d/kg.
Mr. Bay Quoc, in the Chau Thanh says planting Cocoa now got more than in the past , so I widens the garden. Planting other fruit, except the …then other are … and longgan…everyyear has 1 collection, the Cocoa fruit could be sold continuously. If the area is about 2 next years good, I would get the profit of 100 milliond every year.
In the past, in the Mekong delta procvinces, Highland, and south east provinces, Cocoa is planted a lot, good for the economic because there are not the collection agent. But now, the Cocoa processing in the internal and foreign markets, and Cocoa grain collection agent. Now the area of Cocoa in the all country is estimated 10000ha, concentrated mostly in Ben Tre, about 2000ha, Tien Giang, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, some places in Dong Nai and Highland. The Cocoa in the area is especially planted in the free time with other fruits in other developing countries and give high capacity.
